Business Process Optimization

Process modeling and optimization can take many forms under many names:

People generally think of most of these as processes to improve shop floor operations, but they are actually general tools for eliminating waste and improving flow or throughput in any environment. That is why we refer to it as Business Process Optimization. We help our clients to get the most out of their business processes, whether in the office, on the shop floor, across the internet, or through global partnerships, utilizing the most appropriate techniques for each client.

Business processes are the methods and activities that we perform every day to do our jobs. Every process has inputs, outputs, mechanisms, and wasted steps. Optimization seeks to eliminate all of the wasteful effort and maximize outputs relative to inputs. While there are many tools that have been packaged under many names, the overall process remains the same. Get rid of waste, balance the operation, and (fill in the blank) - save me money ... help me ship more quickly ... help me to get to market faster ... help me serve more people in less time...  Whatever the goal, a procedural approach to analyzing and streamlining business processes

At the lowest level, all of the above methods identify processes inputs and outputs, identify wasted steps, and redefine the processes/procedures without that waste. Sounds simple, right? At that lowest level, it is. Unfortunately, real world operations do not generally operate at that level. Concurrent events complicate things, everyone has their day-to-day job priorities that permit little time for formal process modeling, companies lack experienced facilitators, and teams lack training. Anywhere above that lowest level, most companies could benefit from external resources with the experience and the time to focus on optimization.

Are you ready to take a solid, structured approach to process improvement? We can help.
